As we quickly approach the last 5 weeks of school, we reflect on the good times we’ve had this year, from the numerous community events to the on-site festivities. We are forever grateful to those who have donated time, money and sweat in the effort to better Bay Park Elementary.

As we wind down, the PTA does a little house cleaning too. We elected our new board and will hold our last board meeting on Wednesday. Many have shifted in their roles and many new board members have been elected to serve in key positions. All of their efforts coupled with the countless volunteers made Bay Park a special community this year and we say a huge THANK YOU for all they have done and continue to do in these last weeks.

We will be preparing for 5th grade promotion with a ton of festivities to send our Stingrays out with a bang. We are also in search of a Halloween Carnival Committee. The Carnival is a Bay Park classic and these types of traditions are what former students and community members come back for. We would hate to see it not happen, but in order for this great event to take place, we need a dedicated committee to take it on. They say “Many hands make for light work”. If you are interested in being a part of that committee, please email bayparkpta@gmail.com.

Fundraising Update:
In addition to wrapping things up, our fundraising efforts will also slow down. We’ve created an infographic so each parent can see where we stand in meeting our financial obligations to the school. We are currently short for this school year, but with some belt tightening and a bit of savings, we should be ok. However we would like to make sure we do not fail to meet the goal next year. With that said, if you have any suggestions for us on that front, we would love to hear them. Taking an active role in what the PTA funds is one way to get involved at school.

Again we thank all of you who made this year extra special. We hope to see you next fall and would love to hear any feedback you may have to make the school even better than it already is.
