Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Bay Park Elementary Dad’s group, DOGS (Dads of Great Students).

DOGS is a support team for the Bay Park Elementary PTA and no actual dogs are required or involved… haha.

There are quite a few Dad’s interested in taking part in the DOGS for the rest of this 21/22 school year and we’re talking to you. Although DOGS was started so late this year, we’re also recruiting DOGS now for the 22/23 school year.

What is DOGS group all about? The DOGS are invited to complete tasks for the Bay Park Elementary PTA. Some examples of tasks are:

  • Help out for Movie Night on May 13

  • Fixing tables/benches

  • Playground projects

  • Helping with the Halloween Carnival

  • Setting up the Haunted Hallway

  • Install Drip Irrigation in Planter Boxes

  • and So Much More.

In the past the DOGS have also been a social group that met up at local breweries, batting cages, or the back nine to hang out and meet other dads.

This week, the PTA has 2 main objectives for the DOGS and we’re calling out all you DADS that want to get involved.

THIS WEEK’S DOGS OBJECTIVES – 5/9/2022

1. PRESSURE WASHING
MAY 11 and/or 12, Right After School @ 3:40pm to 5:00pm. PRESSURE WASH the Pavement of our Movie Theater for May 13th Movie Night Event (Southside of Center Breezeway, All the Way to the Steps) If you have a pressure washer and/or hoses you could donate to this task, that would be of great assistance. We may need up to 3 pressure washers and 4 to 6 DOGS to complete this task in the allotted time frame or maybe push it to the next day.

2. MOVIE NIGHT SET UP – MAY 13
Right After School @ 3:40 pm to 6:00 pm, We need to Set Up 2 popcorn machines, up to 6 tables, a pop-up tent possibly. We may need up to 3 to 6 DOGS to complete this task.

3. MOVIE MANAGEMENT, CROWD & LINE CONTROL, POPCORN, AND WATER.
6:00 pm to 9:40 pm – The movie starts at Sundown, Approximately from 7:40 pm to 9:40 pm. Hodads is doing mini Burgers and Fries and will be managing themselves. A Craft Soda Stand will be present and they are also managing themselves. Although we may be asked to lend a hand as needed with our vendors, we will be providing crowd and line control and will be serving popcorn and water for PTA. We may need up to 4 to 8 DOGS to complete this task.

4. BREAKDOWN AND CLEAN UP
9:40 pm to 10:15 pm – When the movie is over, we need to help empty trash bins into dumpsters on Erie St., break down popcorn machines, and move them into the auditorium or someone’s car and misc. clean-up help to break down. We may need up to 4 to 6 DOGS to complete this task.

FYI – I don’t believe it’s mandatory to join BPE PTA, although the link below can take you to the Totem website which manages our BPE PTA membership.
